PWYLLGOR CANMLWYDDIANT CENTENARY COMMITTEE 14 03 11
The Centenary Fund now totals £1216 .Recently £115 was raised at the third quiz night organised and £400 has been received following the sale of Stop the Bus tickets.Grateful thanks to Catherine Jones, Lady Vice Captain (Dorothy Nemeth) and Arthur Jump for organising the quiz and to Andrew McDonald (Tosh) for helping Arthur sell the tickets.
Easter Draw - details regarding the draw will soon be posted on notice boards.
Due to current circumstances regarding catering at the club the proposed Sportsman's Dinner has been postponed.
Jar on the Bar - the jar will soon be in place on the bar - loose change will be gratefully received.
Free club membership - as from early June tickets will be on sale to members , visitors and guests with the winner qualifying for free club membership in 2012 - 13.
Details regarding club partners are being delivered to locally based businesses
Club twinning - Quite understandably due to an already congested fixture list the proposed arrangement between the club and Hazel Grove G C has fallen through ................. our best wishes go to the Stockport club for a successful Centenary year and hopefully some of their members will be able to play at Bull Bay in future months.
We are now actively engaged in discussions with Beau Desert G C (another Fowler designed course) regarding developing the reciprocal arrangements which we have with the Staffordshire club .............................. more details to follow.
Hickory Shafted G S - It's hoped that Centenary year will feature a Hickory Shafted golf day .................... possibly playing the original course in costume of that period.
There are optimistic signs that the club will host dignitaries from various aspects of life during the celebrations.
Centenary Wine could be available soon .
A folio of present day course photographs is to be compiled
The draft copy of the book Bull Bay 1913 - 2013 is at an advanced stage and discussions are ongoing with potential printers.

At a meeting of the Centenary Committee held recently the following new faces attended - Lady Vice Captain (Dorothy Nemeth), Mick Baynes, Sion Thomas and head greenkeeper Andy Peel ............. welcome to the group.
Also re appearing were President (Tony Lewis)and Immediate past Captain (Brian McDonald)
The meeting was extremely positive and reports were given on various on going fund raising events. Andrew MacDonald (Tosh) and Vice President (Arthur Jump) were warmly thanked for their efforts selling Football team tickets and Catherine Jones and Arthur again for arranging the recent quiz.
Arrangements are on going for a Sportsman's Dinner at the club and investigations are being made into the possibility of arranging a fund raising Antique Roadshow at the club. An Easter Raffle is expected to boost the funds ( donations of prizes gratefully received) and an Easter egg based event is a probablity .................. watch the notice boards and the website!
Arrangements for twinning with another Centenary golf club - Hazel Grove G C , Stockport - are well advanced and the Club Partners scheme for local businesses should become operational in early April.
